Meeting Briefs

Meeting: February 8, 2012

We had a wonderfully energetic meeting today.   Thank you Gary Thomas for all your work and passion for our LeTip Chapter.

Our Tipmaster Cliff Dennett of Pinnacle Bank gave out a task to keep in mind this week: Each member is to focus on giving at least one outside tip to the members sitting next to you at the meeting today.  So take a few minutes this week to think about these two fellow members and who could benefit from meeting them.

Speaking today was our Business Coach member Al Tervalon who gave us a hint on how we could tip him.  It’s to LISTEN, and when we hear someone expressing frustrations about their business, we can let them know how ActionCOACH Al Tervalon solves problems and gets businesses on the right track to fulfilling their goals. We even had a group participation where we each answered two questions: 1) Name something that you are not doing right now in your business that you should be doing. 2) What is keeping you from doing it? This sparked a lively discussion amongst members and we soon realized that as successful business owners, their is more we need to do and can benefit greatly from talking about it and getting input.

Reminder that next week is Visitation reports and there is a prize!  Should be a very entertaining and informative meeting next week.

Meeting: February 1, 2011

Almost perfect attendance at our meeting this first day of February, also our special “Guest Day”. We welcomed two guests today, one in the category of Real Estate Loans and the other a Real Estate Attorney. We hope they could see the benefits LeTip Morgan Hill can offer their businesses and will join us in the future.

Tipmaster Cliff Dennett announced the winners of the Top Tipper awards for January. Our newest member Deb Massey passed along the most tips last month! And Rosy Bergin took home the badge for most Outside Tips. Great way to start out the new year.

David Pinheiro of Farmers, our Property & Casualty Insurance member, was our speaker today. David gave us a good education on what our true asset exposure is in the face of an automobile accident and ways we can protect everything we have worked so hard for by utilizing an umbrella policy.

Meeting: November 30, 2011

Robert Kerr communicates with cars.  As our showboater today, Robert of Bullseye Auto Repair brought in some of the tools he uses to get information from your automobile so he can make a proper diagnosis.

Everyone has one!  At least every customer at Pinnacle Bank has one.  A relationship manager, that is.  Our chapter banker, Cliff Dennett spoke today and gave us just a few examples of the benefits your business can reap by working with our community bank, Pinnacle Bank.   When your business wants to purchase their building, get a line of credit, make building improvements, or any has any other business need, Cliff can sit with you, look at your financial information, and get you pre-qualified for a loan.  He has lots of creative options and nothing is off the table.   What a great resource to help our local businesses prosper.

Next week is our Chapter party so we will not be meeting on Wednesday.

Meeting: November 16, 2011

Excellent job Diana Guertin of Catered by Diana and Dalina Ramirez of Cherisses Hair Salon for winning Honorable Mentions in the LeTip International Showboat contest.  A Showboat is when we set up a display to show off our business and grab the attention of the viewer.    See for yourself how dramatic a visual can be.

Meeting: November 9, 2011

Welcome to our newest members Joe and Mary Fatula, owners of The Lumenaris Group, a fun and unique business they have recently moved to Morgan Hill.  They describe it as “a group of inventors”, manufacturing cool stuff they hope people will enjoy and learn something too.  We are very excited to learn more about what they offer, and how we can help them grow.  www.lumenaris.com

Rosy Bergin was our featured member today and she spoke to us about how she and her husband Rich came to be in the restaurant business; from a fish market and fish wholesaler in San Jose, adding a restaurant, then another, and one more in Morgan Hill.  Whew!  The couple finally sold everything except Rosy’s at the Beach so they could work close to home and enjoy their family and community.   Now add Bubbles Wine Bar!

A few exciting announcements:  Top tippers for the month of October are Diana Guertin with 13 leads given and Rosy Bergin with 14.  Way to go.
